Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar (26 September 1820 – 29 July 1891) One prominent Bengali educationist, social reformer and prose writer from the nineteenth century.His real name is Ishwar Chandra Bandyopadhyay. He received Vidyasagar from the first year for his proficiency in Sanskrit language and literature.In the Bengali society Vidyasagar Mahasaya is still a leisurely person.

The 199 the Birthday Celebration Program was organised on 26 Th September 2018 at Old LIC more of Midnapore town by the Center. The center has been organizing this programe since 1991. Notable personalities of the town including some university and college teachers joined the programme and garlanded the statue of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar. Prof. Dipak Sarkar, one of the patrons associated with the since establishment was also present. Prof. Anil Jana, Founder Secretary of the centre proposed vote of thanks to the participants after garlanding Vidyasagar.
